Routing Number

ABA Routing Transit Number

A routing number is a nine-digit code used in the United States to identify financial institutions. It is used to direct funds to the correct bank during transactions such as direct deposits, wire transfers, and electronic payments.

Also known as an ABA number or RTN, the routing number appears at the bottom of checks alongside the account number. Different types of transactions (wire transfers vs. ACH) may use different routing numbers for the same bank. You can find your routing number on your bank statement or by contacting your bank. To identify a bank from a routing number, use our free routing number lookup tool.
